"It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, our minutes.
It is so easy to take for granted the color of the azaleas,
the sheen of the limestone on Fifth Avenue,
the color of our kid's eyes,
the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again.
It is so easy to exist instead of live."

Lodi is the new Napa!

We decided to hit the road on yet another wine tasting adventure, this time only an hour away in the East direction of Lodi.  Why Lodi you say? Why not? It's not pretentious, great Petit Sirah, Zins, Cabs, and the price is so right. There were more than 50 wineries in the region, and some new tasting rooms in the downtown area. Our first stop was at Abundance Winery, and we left with 6 Saugvinon Blanc bottles, all for $5.  You can't get that in Napa, that's for sure. Even the tasting fee was $5, like how it used to be in Napa, instead of $15-$20 these days.  It was a scorching 100 degrees, but then again we were inside in the tasting rooms most of the time.  What they say is right in Lodi, the wine is made with love, very much handcrafted. We will be back for sure.

$5 a bottle! usually $15, still a deal for summer wine

Bilal takes half a case, but was ready to get more.
